Hello everyone!

I never participated a lot in this forum (outside from my own welcome post (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/forums/showthread.php/16168-Steeler-Nation-in-Brazil?p=351587)), but I've been an avid reader for the last couple of years.

Anyway, I finally saved enough to leave the sunny beaches of Rio de Janeiro behind and go to Pittsburgh, to watch a game at Heinz Field (Saints @ Steelers, on November 30).

I was wondering if anybody could give me a few newbie tips & tricks on attending a game at Heinz Field. I'm staying near Market Sq., so transportation will not be a problem (I think), but if you have any suggestions for activities, tailgating or anything else, I'd be eternally grateful :)

Thanks in advance!

Let me get this straight. You are leaving Brasil Nov 30 to go to Pittsburgh? Do you have winter clothes?

Glad to have you in Steeler Nation. Hope it is a good game for you. It is quite an experience. I will let the local Pittsburgh guys/girls fill you in on the best transportation and other activities.

Have fun.

Yup, that's it!

Actually, I'm arriving in Pittsburgh on November 28. Before that, I'll be in Orlando, New Orleans and Dallas with some friends.

I do have some winter clothes that I used in France two years ago... I'm trusting that will be sufficient. :)

Thanks a lot for the support!

There are a lot of great things to do around Pittsburgh but since you're coming specifically for the Steelers experience, you definitely want to make it down to the strip district. The game is on Sunday the 30th -- how many days before and after the game will you be in town?

I'm arriving on Friday the 28th, but my flight lands at around 5:30 PM, so I won't have much time on that day. My departing flight is on Monday, December 1, at 5:55 PM.

I was thinking about renting a car and driving to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the morning of my final day, but I still haven't made up my mind.

I'm checking the Strip District on Google, I see that's where I can find the famous Primanti Brothers sandwich. Definitely on my checklist! :D

Yes, the Strip District is definitely a must-see. The Heinz History Museum is another one. It's technically downtown, but isn't far from the start of the Strip. Lots of history of the city and our sports teams is located there. Also, if you're into the night scene and/or some higher-end shopping, check out the South Side. It's a little bit away from Heinz Field and the city center, but not so far away that it's an inconvenience. It's also a good thing you are staying near Market Square (I'm assuming at either the Wyndham Grand or Fairmont), all you will have to do is take the "T" (our subway) over to the stadium.

Thanks for the tips, X-Terminator. I actually rented a room via Airbnb (http://www.airbnb.com/c/phime1), which was way cheaper than a hotel in the same vicinity.

I'll be certain to visit the Heinz History Museum, it does sound great!

Will do! I was already going to stop by Primanti's, but I can have dinner at The Bus' restaurant on my first day, since I'll be arriving a bit late in the afternoon.

Thanks a lot, Dwinsgames!
