In 2000, when Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was charged with murder and later agreed to plead guilty to obstruction of justice and testify against his co-defendants, the Ravens stood by him. Today, the Ravens decided to stop standing by running back Ray Rice. In the opinion of Lewis, that’s because his own case is a lot different from Rice’s.

Lewis, now an ESPN analyst, addressed the situation on the air today.

“There’s no comparison,” Lewis said. “There is no comparison between me and Ray Rice. It’s night and day.”

Just for future reference, anybody named Ray that plays for the Ravens should memorize these two phrases:
1. I choose to remain silent until I can speak with an attorney.
2. No comment.

Lewis is right, he got away with murder and Rice is out of the NFL for hanging with a female street rat.

Of course it's different. Janay Palmer is still alive.

Yeah it's different: Lewis got no punishment whatsoever for his crime, and gave testimony that he knew wouldn't get his friends who were as guilty in the murders as he was convicted...Ray Rice didn't kill anyone (however his crime is still reprehensible) and his career is likely over.

Lewis murdered a guy. Rice just popped his wife in the jaw. He's right...night and day. He's not right in that they are both pieces of shit.

Shut up, Ray. I'm still waiting for Al Sharpton to show up outside the Raven's facilities.

Ray, do us all a favor and seclude yourself somewhere in Idaho

Lewis is right - he should be compared to Aaron Hernandez, not Ray Rice. What Rice did was despicable, but at least no one has died (yet). I can't believe they had the nerve to trot out Lewis to comment on the case, like he's some paragon of virtue.

Ray Lewis. The world champion of morality.

The Ravens organization stood behind you for your fuck up, which is arguably an even more destructive crime than what Rice did. He's right. The difference really is night and day. Rice got caught. You didn't. So to sit there and peddle that crap on TV is embarrassing.

Ray Rice made a tragic mistake will likely cost him his career, and what is probably the lowest moment of his life, His "Mentor" just kicked him while he is down on National TV.

Some people just need to learn to STFU.

Did anyone really want to hear what Ray Lewis had to say on this matter? Really?
