Maybe he is the back up long snapper as well. He must have other skills that we have not seen on tape yet.

Absolutely no reason for him to still be on the roster.

Jones is really an alien like from Men in Black. The galaxy is on Landry's jock.

I got this figured. One of the jobs of the 3rd string qb is to be the other teams qb against your defense in practice in the week leading up to the game. They're playing the Browns week one. So where else are you going to find a qb to be equally as shitty as Hoyer and Johnny football? :chuckle:.

Also keeping Landry serves as extra motivation to the line and backs to maintain their blocks. Send 'em to bed the night before the game with a picture of Landry. It that doesn't keep them focused nothing will!

Landry Jones sucks. I saw him in training camp and he sucked, and he sucked in pre-season. It's a travesty he's even permitted to carry a clipboard. This is one of those things that makes me go hmmm.

If Jones hits the field we will not be winning or close to winning a game from there on anyway. Why didn't we cut him and keep another young LB or DL on the roster.

His wife is friends with Ben's wife.

The only thing I can think of is to prevent a division rival from picking him up just to pick his brain about our offense. Anything other than that makes very little sense. I suppose they figure Carter isn't going anywhere, so if an injury occurs at OLB they can pick him back up without having to pay him some kind of week 1 roster bonus. Hopefully they're telling him to stay in football shape.

Howard Jones is on the practice squad and won't likely be snatched up either. The depressing part for me is that James Harrison retired so my dream of getting one more year out of him seems to be gone. He would make a good strength and conditioning coach. Well, at least the strength part.
