Gordon is disappointed in the NFL's arbitrator for not using "discretion" in deciding his case. They used it last year on his appeal, was suspended only two games and fined his game checks for the next two. Could have been suspended all four games without pay. He just couldn't keep his damn nose clean. He should have been nowhere near marijuana in the first place.

I don't care if you think that pot should be legal. I don't care if you use it. The fact is it's not legal, and it's a banned substance by the National Football League. To get to this point, Gordon needed 3 failed drug tests. The NFL's substance abuse policy (and PED policy) states that the players and players alone are solely responsible for what enters their bodies.

Our two running backs are now in the substance abuse program. If they get popped for any banned substance, it's a 4 game suspension. Popped a third time, a year. If that happens, I won't have a problem with the suspensions. Stay away from the banned substances, make millions of dollars and obtain fame. It really shouldn't be that hard, but it is.

Dang I hope that doesn't happen to our guys. It won't be a pretty season if it does....holding my breath.....

The tricky thing for them now is staying away from the banned substances while being subjected to a lot more drug tests than the one a year. Now if Bell gets a cold, no codeine even if prescribed by his doctor.

Speaking of this, you know what's gotten old REALLY fast? That EVERY time an NFL player gets fined or suspended for any reason, everyone on the Internet makes a sarcastic joke about Ray Rice, and for each remark 500 people are like "OMG I NEVR THOUGHT OF THAT LOLLLLLL YOU WIN THE INTERNET!!!" I ought to make some more smilies if I wasn't so damn lazy.

OMG RAY RICE GETS 2 GAMES FOR BEATING HIS GIRLFRIEND BUT SMOKE POT & ITS A YEAR

OMG RAY RICE GETS 2 GAMES FOR HITTING A WOMAN & MERIWEATHER GETS 2 GAMES FOR HITING ANOTHER PLAYER IN A GAME

OMG RAY RICE GETS FINED $50K FOR KNOCKING OUT HIS GF AND JIMMY GRAHAM GETS $50K FOR DUNKING THE BALL OVER THE GOALPOASTS COME ON NFL

OMG ____ GOT SUSPENDED 4 GAMES FOR A DRUG TEST HE SHOULDA JUST BEAT UP HIS GIRLFRIEND INSTEAD THEN HED ONLY GET 2 GAMES

I mean OK, it was funny for a few weeks, and occasionally someone has a clever way of putting it, but seriously, it's OLD. Come on, everyone.

Oh, wait. It's the Internet. That was pretty naive of me.

What? Jokes/memes that are by and large mildly amusing at best to begin with being beaten to death on the Innerwebz? Never!

As long as this was their first trip up with substance abuse in the NFL, there won't be a suspension. Even if it's the second for either player, that's a four game suspension. You don't get a year ban until your third failed drug test/run in with the law for drugs.

Now like blackngldblood said, the tricky part is staying away from the banned substances. I hope they both get a list of banned substances and triple check to make sure no medication that they're taking has any in them. Hell, they better stay away from bread with poppy seeds in them because that can give a false positive for opiates.

I just hope they're smarter than some other players in the league and walk away from the pot until they retire.

We should trade the Browns one of our WRs for a CB.
