It’s not often that an NFL coach takes more than a cursory glance, let alone an interest, in a punter. Then again, Brad Wing has never been a typical punter.
It’s not that he’s left-footed, that he speaks with an accent or even that his long-on-top, shaved-on-sides hairstyle suggests rock star more than Steeler, Wing draws a crowd.
Only moments after the Steelers wrapped up practice Wednesday afternoon, Wing scrambled for his phone as Mike Tomlin anxiously huddled around the punter’s stall.
“What did your mates do?” Tomlin asked.
Upon learning that Australia had lost 3-2 to the Netherlands in the World Cup, Wing let out a small groan as his coach let out a laugh...........
