Pittsburgh Steelers (http://sportsglory.com/category/nfl/steelers?lc=int_mb_1001) defensive assistant Joey Porter is taking a hands on approach to coaching the team’s linebackers.

“Joey’s sure bringing it, (http://www.steelers.com/news/article-1/Jarvis-Joeys-sure-bringing-it/806e6cdf-ba57-4648-b300-6dd88d15a64b)” outside linebacker Jarvis Jones said, via Steelers.com. “Everything we do, we do it as a linebacker group collectively.

“Even in the weight room, some of the bigger guys like Steve (McClendon); Steve lifts the whole weight room. And he’ll go lift some weights and Joey will be like, ‘I can do that, too.’

And we’re like, ‘Joey, you aren’t playing any more. You’re coaching us.’ But that’s the kind of guy he is. If he sees one of us do it he wants to do it, too..........

Inside linebacker Vince Williams hopes to one day achieve Porter’s verbal presence.
“I’m thinking about renting out one of the rooms in his house and just kind of living in there,” Williams said. “I want to be ‘Baby Joey Porter’ in a sense. Not so much as how he played, (because) he played outside, obviously, but just try to pick up the demeanor.

Porters verbal presence and demeanor came naturally. If these guys don't have it within it's not going to work.

If Williams can talk Porter's talk and back it up like Joey did...I'd be happy...but then what would that mean for Shazier and Timmons...lol

I'd rather see Jarvis Jones be Jarvis Jones. You can never achieve your full potential by trying to be someone else. Yes, learn from Joey, but be Jarvis.
