Or Revis goes to the Broncos, which takes them out of the market for a CB and with all the connections the Steelers get Verner?

fuck revis. he's bitched about getting a new contract 3 separate offseasons. THREE. you damn well better believe he'll bitch again if he's with us, or at the very least ask for a king's ransom. At least verner is very open to taking significantly less. i hope the broncos take him so that we have one less competitor for verner

and you are PROBABLY right , but what if his dream was to always play in front of the home town ?

what if he is willing to take far less money to do so and be happy doing it ?

its never been his desire to be financially affordable to whomever he laced them up for , no reason to think he would now other than he is already rich and the Steelers play in the shadow of his own back yard as a kid

This.
We couldn't afford Revis anyways. One less player for Verner and hopefully Munch can throw some influence.

This is why you never make a cb the highest paid player on the team.

In his defense, the Jets repeatedly lied to him and he took the contracts the Bucs offered, now that dumpster fire of a franchise has decided it doesn't want to abide by the agreements the previous regime made.

Not too much of that is Revis' fault. I would do cartwheels if the Steelers signed Revis for anything less than 11 million per year.

Verner is going to the jets

some chatter about Revis to browns going on now ... ( Remember any team willing to trade a pick for him and his bloated contract will get him prior to 4pm est ) ...

Browns have the cap space to make it happen , and what a duo they would have in the secondary ....

add in the rumor of interest in Byrd and teams will be hard pressed to throw on the brownies

So Haden, Revis, and Byrd? Goodness. That'd give Seattle a run for their money as the top secondary.

Revis - what a joke. The guy is a walking contract problem and nobody wants to deal with him anymore. He'll probably be demanding 9 years and $900 million with the new salary cap. But sorry, dude, you're yesterday's news and people are tired of your act.

Latest Browns Rumor is that they are going to pull in Whitner, Emmanuel Sanders, Revis, Tyson Jackson, and Ben Tate.

I guess they are the Dolphins of 2014?

if each piece makes them 1 game better and they get them all ... a Healthy season anything like the numbers he put up last year from Hoyer gives them a couple more they win the division ,,, but its Cleveland we have to believe something goes wrong with that theory even if it all does happen

In todays football, he is going to have to understand that no team in their right mind is going to pay what he wants. With three or four other DB's responsible for an equal amount of space, he isnt going to demand 16 mil a year. Of course....there is always the Raiders.

how do you guys feel about going for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie? I saw on nfl.com that the broncos apparently shut down contract talks with him once they got Aqib Talib on board. Same article says the patriots are expected to chase darelle revis.

That's just it, Perry - there are a number of teams that aren't in their right mind out there. That's how he got to be paid damn near franchise QB money in the first place.

Yep. And he WILL hold out again next year for even more. Three certainties of life: death, taxes and Darrelle Revis wanting more money.

Sadly those teams set the market as well
