The way I see it is that he's got to either take a significant pay cut to remain a Steeler. Or do as James Harrison did and turn down the pay cut, become a free agent, and eventually settle for less than what the Steelers offered with a different team.

You have to ignore the dead money, and ask, can you find a better CB for $7M? Can you find one for less than $7M? The answer to both is HELL YES.

i dont even want to see him around with a paycut, unless its was vet minimum which would never happen, and would be stupid on ike's part to accept anyways. i appreciate all youve done for us ike, we'll remember you for a long time. but your time has come.

Yeah I think he is gone and, he was a good player for the steelers. Well documented about how bad his hands are and, I still can't forget D Thomas of the Broncos running away from Ike in that OT playoff loss to them. I thought I was going to have a stroke after that moment. All kidding aside Ike would always take on the other teams #1 WR and, usually pay great but, it is a younger man's game.

they need to cut him loose. He may be 10% the player he was in his prime

if you read the article , the worst part is he does not see the decline .... when a player is blind to the facts and does not instead own them ....

its time ...

He is now writing checks with his mouth that his ass can't cash

Very few players do. Franco Harris, as classy as Steeler as there ever was didn't see it, and still holds it against Noll that he did.

Like watching a fighter age in the ring way past his prime. It appears he didn't give his all either.

Unfortunate for a guy who had a GREAT consecutive starter streak for a CB. Swag on IKE.

yes, ike has terrible hands, but he did intercept "jake the mistake" in the '05 championship game (at end of first half to set up the TD that put the game away before halftime).

AND!

two weeks later intercepted matt hasslehoff at the steelers 15 (ending the seahonks scoring threat and setting up the drive that would be the bomb to ward).
