When did Tim Tebow first come into the spotlight? ...

I was watching NFL Network yesterday with the 30 minute SB clips. When Ben ran the ball in against Arizona, one of the coaches for Pittsburgh made the comment "You (he) looked like Tim Tebow".

Did I hear that correctly?

The first I heard of Tebow was in 2006, his freshman year of Florida, he had taken some snaps as Florida's backup QB. He really shot to fame in 2007, winning the Heisman and becoming the first sophomore to do so. Super Bowl 43 in 2008 was the same year Tebow won the national championship and made that big speech after the loss to Ole Miss that year. I think part of the Tebow hype in 2011 came from the stardom he achieved in college
