Bowman of the 49ers tore his ACL and MCL on a great play and this is what he gets from the Seahawks fans - very classy

From the looks of the amount that was thrown, it was probably one drunken asshole....but most Seahag fans are still a-holes.

That fanbase gets no pass from me. Predictably, the conspiracy (http://www.seahawks.net/viewtopic.php?p=1229748#p1229748) theories (http://www.seahawks.net/viewtopic.php?p=1230656#p1230656) have already started. I hope the Broncos tear them a new one and if they do, I got $100 that says they'll be bitching and crying about the refs for years afterward again. :coffee:

the seahags on the play that bowman got hurt got a HUGE advantage from the refs this possession can not be reviewed has to be changed. it was clear bowman had the ball down by contact.

Ya think the Seahawks players showed more class? Sherman for example?

I wont judge an entire fanbase by one moron throwing a cup of ice. But I will judge them on their continued and collective pissing and moaning about a game played 8 years ago when their team was far and way the worst among the 3 teams performing that day ( Steelers, refs, and Squawks) Their hero's only scored 10 points. Steven's did in fact push off in the end zone. The flag was out before the ball was caught. The hold on Haggans was also the correct call. The Steelers did in fact score 21 points unaided by the officials. Ben may or may not have crossed the plane of the goal, but the call on field was he did, and the replay couldn't disprove it, thus the play was correctly upheld. Besides it was a 3rd down play, and the Steelers are caught by NFL films saying that if the call is reversed they're going to go for the 4th and an inch. To assume they wouldn't score is absurd. So fuck the Squawks!

That was one of the more horseshit calls I think I've ever seen, and the Seahawks still blew any chance to take advantage of it. In fact, by fumbling on the very next play, they actually cost themselves about 15 yards of field position since the 49ers would've ended up having the ball on the 1 if the correct call had been made. Rarely is there that much justice in the world.
That also demonstrates indisputably, beyond any shadow of a doubt, why every Seahawks fan ever needs to shut the hell up about the officiating for the rest of his/her life. All the bullshit about "Well, if only that call hadn't gone against us, we would've won!" is so tired. No - you would've won if you'd gotten the call AND EVERYTHING ELSE AFTER IT WENT EXACTLY THE WAY YOU HOPED. Assuming you would've gone on to score if there was no penalty on a play, or still kept the other team from scoring if another break went your way, is a pretty big goddamn assumption, as we say last weekend.
Regardless, it's still a shame that such a brilliant play got taken away from Bowman, and I have absolutely no idea why any aspect of a play like that is "not reviewable." That's seemed to be the new buzzword that's come up a lot this year, and needs to change. What do you mean, not reviewable? There is no such thing. Just look at the play and make the right call. Not rocket science.

I think you are cherry picking a little bit here. There are just as many on that thread that don't believe in conspiracy and make fun of the posts you point out. I still think they have more whiners than us but form time to time this forum gets a pretty good bit of "the league is out to get us" and goodell and the refs don't want us to win" syndrome.

Regardless, I think all fan bases can agree that the Pats* are the zebra's sweethearts. :chuckle:

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I do not like their fans at all and I'm starting to have a strong dislike for the entire team and Pete Carrol. I do think Russel Wilson is a good guy though.

That's just it - my problem with the Seahawks is solely with their fanbase. I like Russell Wilson and their defense hits people in the mouth. That fanbase doesn't deserve them. And I find it hard to hold anything against the guy who was behind this:

Yeah, our fanbase has its share of whiners as well, no doubt about it. But we also don't dwell on shit for YEARS afterward.

As much as I can't stand the fans, and Sherman made himself out to be a loudmouth jerk, I have to say I am very, very impressed with how good Seattle's defense is. They're one of very few teams in recent memory where you know anyone's going to have a tough time moving the ball. Probably even Manning, although if there's one guy I wouldn't bet against for that, he's it.

True. Run the ball play good defense, sounds a lot like a team I used to know.

That Seahawks-49ers NFC title game reminded me of the Steelers-Ravens showdowns from just a few years ago. Violent, physical football where points are at a premium. It was definitely a throwback type game.

Forgot about that. :chuckle:
I'm not really that "offended" by Sherman as the rest of the world. I didn't see him as a sore winner. I saw him in the heat of the moment in a huge battle/game. I mean, how can I get pissed if I cheer Lambert throwing Cliff Harris around like a sack of potatoes. Mean Joe was no saint. Gregg Lloyd cussed on national TV after the 95 AFCC game.
I will say fuck their fans, though.
