Cleveland Browns (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/cle/cleveland-browns) wide receiver Davone Bess (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11678/davone-bess) was arrested for assaulting an officer/firefighter Friday morning, according to a report by WBFS in Miami.

Bess, 28, was taken into custody by police at Fort Lauderdale International Airport around 6:19 a.m. ET, the station reported.

It's the second time in as many days that Bess finds himself in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Bess, who capped a disappointing first season with Cleveland by missing the final two games for personal reasons, posted a photo on Thursday morning on his Twitter page of a small package containing what appears to be marijuana. Some of the green-and-brown colored substance is out of the bag and on a table. The photo has since been deleted........

if he was a Steeler he would have already been suspended for the 2014 season ....

so many of these athlete come from Da'Hood and do not leave that mentality there and that becomes a problem when they get 7 figures dumped into their laps , instead of seeing the ability to change the mindset and use that money to benefit themselves long term they see it as a means to heighten their involvement in the thugs lifestyle ....

no longer forced to be a street level dealer they look at the pie in the sky and say damn I can be da'man ....

seemingly that is his current mentality

it gets stranger

The Dolphins traded Davone Bess to the Cleveland Browns a month after he was institutionalized under the Baker Act for strange behavior

The police report detailing Davone Bess' alleged assault of a Broward sheriff's deputy Friday depicts an unstable, violent man, likely on drugs.

It's the same condition in which authorities discovered Bess, the former Dolphins receiver, in his Cooper City home 10 months earlier -- and the reason they had him hospitalized against his will.

Six BSO deputies were needed on that night to restrain Bess, who was screaming, "Hide the guns," "Where is my weed," and "I want to get in the end zone; throw me the football," according to the incident report.
