numbers that stick out like a sour thumb to me is Russel Wilson 9-18-103 yards Lynch 28 carries 140 yards and 2 scores
Brees 24-43 -309 yards and 1 td in a losing effort ....

I don't think there's a secondary in the league that's close to Seattle. They can shut down any passing game.

Brees passed for 309 yards, how is that shut down?

Did you actually watch the game? Brees was ineffective for most of it. Almost all of his stats came at the end of the game.

I thought weak to average defenses and overpaid WRs won games lol

2nd string CB as a starter too for the Hawks .... Remember Brandon Browner was the starter Maxwell has come out of no place and filled the role nicely

It helps that Maxwell is flanked by 3 Pro-Bowlers and fronted by a pretty ferocious pass-rush. Not saying he has not played well, but that D is loaded.

You need to be able to do both to win in the postseason. However, that does not mean you should completely ignore the passing game. Plus, Russell Wilson is not in Ben Roethlisberger's class, and to take the ball completely out of his hands like that would be foolish.

Pats /Colts similar outcome 6TDs for the pats on the ground and a small game by brady ( by Brady playoff standards ) more yards rushing for the Pats than passing

Pats seem to find ways to win no matter what they have to work with personnel-wise.
Is this a testament to their coaching, ability to taylor game plans for each opponent and also make excellent adjustments during the game?

Methink it's a testament of the overall quality of the team and that includes players and coaches. They didn't have to adjust during the game last night, they pounded the Colts from the first second to the last.
Since 2004, they recorded 10 winning seasons in a row, winning their division 9 times and finishing 2nd 1 time for a total of 124 W and 36L. They also made the playoffs 9 seasons out of 10 and the only season they missed the playoffs, they finished 11-5. That's pretty impressive.
This being said, I hate them and their fans even more.

I grudgingly agree. But nobody would hate them if they sucked.

You can not go into every game expecting your defense is going to hold drew brees and the saints offense scoreless for most of the game. Did it work last night, ya sure but if you watched the whole game yesterday you had to be thinking after the saints scored the seahawks should not of been so conservative. There is no secret formula or one way to win in the nfl, the teams that win consistently can run when they need to run can pass when they need to pass and get stops when they need stops.

They played to their strength, which at this time is not the passing game, with Gronk on IR and Hernandez likely spending time in prison with Bunk Muffin. That's all it was, and all I, personally, have been asking of the Steelers. Roethlisberger is your best player on offense. Use him.

In regards to the Patroits, Belichick has them do whatever he feels is best to take advantage of the other team's weakness on defense. He isn't going to run it just for the sake of running it to appease the football purists. Who knows what they'll do in the AFCCG.

Rain and 30 MPH was a major factor in this game. The Seahawks pass defense is absolutely awesome, but without the elements playing a role Brees would have had more success. Based on what I saw last night if the 49ers get even a 3 point lead Seattle has no chance to come back. They just don't score.

Actually I have to disagree with that. Just because the Seahawks have a good running game doesn't mean they're afraid to be aggressive in the passing game. When they played the Saints in the regular season on that MNF game, the Seahawks went downfield early on in the game and then ran the ball more often when they had a big lead.
