Something to play with while our team golfs during the playoffs. You can filter for fines or add the suspensions for a real eye opening total. You can filter for type of fine, ie: roughing the passer or helmet to helmet hits and and compare recent years to past years.
Total of 2013 fines for the league - $3,005,085
Total for 2006 ( Gooddell's first year) - $343,028
Total for 2005 ( pre Goodell) - $261,823

Are players actually any safer today than before Goodell's player safety mandate?? Or are they just poorer?

It also shows that that the Steelers "reputation" is greatly exaggerated.

But da Stealers are a bunch of dirty players and they pay da refs!!
Meanwhile, while Goodell is fining the heck out of the players, he's collecting his $20 million.

Inflation curve is a little different for the NFL.

They'll be safer when he gets his 18 game season and expands the NFL to Europe.

And expand the playoffs. The SuperBowl might as well be the same time as the draft. Training camp will start the day after the Super Bowl.
All in the name of safety. :coffee:
