"We have been building the chemistry and we are close to each other," Holmes said. "I didn't have that with my quarterback in Pittsburgh and I think it helps a lot."
It is chemistry that has been building since Holmes arrived five days late to training camp. His 8-year-old son, Santonio III, was recovering from surgery in Atlanta to remove an enlarged spleen caused by sickle cell anemia.
In his very first practice, Holmes caught two touchdown passes, including a diving grab in the corner of the end zone on a 5-yard bullet from Sanchez. His roommate was the first one to greet him with a hug in the end zone.
"The guy shows up and he's making awesome plays from day one," Sanchez said. "It's great."
Holmes caught two of Sanchez's passes, of 29 and 33 yards, in Saturday's Green and White scrimmage.

I wish Holmes all the best, except when they play us.

I wonder how happy he will be with Sanchez when he only has like 700-750 recieving yards at the end of the year because the Jets can't throw the ball? But I wish him the best except when he plays us.

Holmes is still suspended for the first month.

Lot's of partying time between now and when he plays. Bright lights - big city...

To be honest, Holmes and Ben did have some questionable chemistry over the years. When it comes to picking up the "hot route" Ben and Santo have had some epic fails.

I wish Santo all the luck in the world, except against Pittsburgh.

I'll never forget his epic showing in the 2008 playoffs and XLIII, but outside of that, Santo has been an above average WR at best. Made a splash play here and there, but was never elite. Santo never drew double teams, commanded respect from defenders, or took pressure off Ward and the other recievers.

I wish Santonio Holmes remain with the steelers for several more years and I was sad at the time of the trade, but I understand the decision of the steelers.Holmes will remain in the history of the steelers is because of the super bowl. And I always find that Santonio was underrated. He was very clutch and playoffs of 2008 are proof and he was excellent against the Ravens!

I wish him success with the jets and I think the jets will love it if he stopped to have off-field problems. If the steelers did not win the Super Bowl, I'll be happy if Holmes earned his 2nd super bowl with the jets but I hope that our receivers are going to do a little forget Holmes!

what he did do was put up off the chart 1st down % numbers.

top 4 1st down leaders-

reggie wayne- 100 rec/73 1st dwn
larry fitz- 97 rec/69 1st dwn
santonio- 79 rec/ 63 1st dwn
randy moss- 83 rec/62 1st dwn

santonio leads them all with 79% rec going for 1st downs. thats pretty good company. actually thats elite company. he is a 1st down machine.

I still can't believe we traded Holmes for a 5th round pick.

Wow, that's awesome! They must be what, 10-0 by now! He must have caught at least a hundred passes by now, with twenty touch-downs!

Wha... huh? You mean the season hasn't started yet? Oh. Sorry, never mind.

yeah, as if I'm supposed to be worried about a QB From USC.

Palmer, may be the biggest disappointment in Modern Great QBs of all.
Cassell, throwing to Moss doesn't make you great. Have fun in KC.
Leinhart, yeah, you scare me so much. Tell me Lefty, how good is your right tackle again?
Dirty Sanchez. You're on pace to match Broadway Joe with your TD to INT ratio. Go for it.

I'm sure that Tone shared a few blunts with Sanchez to help break the ice.
