I can see all the sideline comments coming: "Curse of the sideline," ect. As if this week won't be bad enough.

You just know they would have taken the TD away anyway.

My rapid reaction is the league and refs did evertyhing in their power to insure the Steelers would lose today. Usually the home team gets a slight slant in the officiating, today the slant was against the Steelers at every turn.

Nah, wasn't the refs out there missing tackles, dropping passes, and stepping out of bounds.

But somehow, Tom Brady* pulls out miracle after miracle in the 4th quarter every week.

like I posted on FB right after the game...
I've always said you have 60 minutes to play. You can't blame it on a bad call or the fact that you put yourself in a position to need one last miracle play. But I'll be .... if we didn't come THAT close to pullin' it off. PROUD TO BE STEELER NATION !

And on a more humorous note: AP about the Ratbird fans. :chuckle:

Yeah, I'm wondering why the offense was dimensional after the first quarter.

And I'm wondering why Leveon Ball wasn't in when the Steeler had possession near the end of the first half starting at the 40 yard line? Yeah I get you want to manage Bell's carries and touches. But that wasn't the time to do it. Two minute offense time and you have your best pass catching back on the sidelines? :frusty: Haley's an asshole.

At this point what does it matter?

We should have won that game. Steelers came out better, but I would have kicked off in the first half after winning the coin toss. In addition, the game was not being managed properly as the offense was not taking a lot of what the Fins' D was giving and likewise, we were giving up way too much to the Dolphins with excess cushion which kept them in it. They should have been put away in the third quarter.

The Dolphins come to Pittsburgh and beat us in a blizzard. For real?

I will say this. the offensive line obviously had some issues, but they weren't the issue. In fact the new guys might have acquitted themselves better than the established guys. After all it was Foster, Gilbert, and DeCasrtro that were guilty of game impacting penalties.

So kudos to Cody Wallace and Adams for playing a pretty solid game.

Ya offensive line was not a problem for us at all thought they filled in nicely.

Just watched the 3rd and 3 bomb attempt to Brown. That play came close. I think on a dry field Antonio runs under that ball and it's a touchdown. But in those conditions at that point in the game ( late 2nd quarter trailing 10-7 ball at the 38 yard line) that was a bad play call. Plus Leveon was open across the middle for an easy first down.

Brick. And Ben Misses. AGAIN.

No, no. You don't get to flip the switch like that.

Todd Haley supposedly sucks for not letting Ben run the offense, now he sucks for not running enough. What about Evil Art II and his fixation with "Grandaddy" 70's Football? No way, welcome to the NEW AGE Steelers with Ben throwing the ball.

The whole team blew chunks in the second half. The WHOLE TEAM sucks. 28-24 Lead and they CHOKE.

Another pivotal play was the 3rd and 1 play the Dolphins had on their first drive in the 3rd quarter. Polamalu should have picked Clay, but instead roamed over to help out Timmons with someone. Troy despite the pick 6 was more liablity than asset for the game.

Then a couple plays later, on the subsequent touchdown on that Dolphin drive, 98 ( Williams) misses his assignment, blindly and uselessly runs into the pile right on Timmons' heel leaving the weakside A gap open enough to drive a forklift through untouched.

So here's a team at home that had an additional 3 days preparation for this game, and here they are missing assignments left, right, and center!

Or on second view it might have been Timmons freelancing that caused it. Either way it was a terribly defensed play, and I'm pretty sure the design didn't have both ILBers flooding the same gap.

cant recall if this is the same play as the one where someone roamed over to double mike wallace instead of clay. Smh...

If the defense would have tackled better i still think the Steelers would have won this game. The play to Brown that went off his fingertips was Ben being a little greedy going for the TD. Like Zu said Bell was open underneath for the first down. This game almost had everything in it. Bad defense, dropped passes/missed chances on both sides of the ball. Poor coaching decisions all around and, get the ball to Heath Miller!

Actually 3 of them in all went to cover Wallace, but I didn't want to mention his name because someone might do a victory dance, because Mikey drew away all of the coverage. :chuckle:

Apparently, there are so many players on the defense not doing their jobs and Troy tries to be everywhere. Both he and Ben try and do too much........out of necessity.
