That catch put Heath Miller over 5,000 career receiving yards! He is the 6th player in franchise history to reach that mark.

I've been very critical of many parts of our coaching staff - but maintained that Haley is severely underrated, and unfairly blamed.

I think his value shone through today.

Anyone know why Timmons fumble recovery was called back to the spot of the fumble?

I think they said the officials prematurely blew the whistle. Like some of the men I've slept with............ :heh:

That last one from Laird...hmmm, I thought Rapoport said that Ben wasn't "cerebral" or prepared enough? How can he call an entire game out of the no-huddle if he wasn't cerebral or lacked preparation?

I hope Ben punches him in the mouth next time he sees him. Then lets Mr. Rooney drop the People's Elbow on him.

Cotchery dropped one (overturned replay). He's not earning his $3 million dollars. Overrated! :chuckle:

Not sure about that. It looked to me like Ben was the one running the offense today for most of the game.

Anyone know why Timmons fumble recovery was called back to the spot of the fumble?

It wasn't called back to the spot of the fumble. It was only moved back a couple of yards because of an inadvertent whistle.

Maybe this should be a thread all by itself, but if Roethlisberger called most to all of the game from the no huddle (see multiple reactions above) and the Steelers had one of their best offensive outputs in a long time, why the hell is Haley still employed?

Even Peyton Manning has an OC...in name only.

But Peyton is a student of the game and works 24-7. Ben doesn't practice and doesn't watch film. He is too busy riding his motorcycle and playing husband. :sarcasm:

And Haley should be relegated to OC in name only for the rest of this season and then get him out of town.

The thing that pisses me off is that I have no doubt that if they would have employed the same game plan they used yesterday last month against the Raiders they would have come out of there with a win and we'd be 5-5 right now. :frusty: But no, we had to force feed asshole Haley's "run to nowhere" script, trying to force feed the run against a team incapable of stopping the pass.

im honestly not sure i can even recall the mention of a scripted-offensive drive in the NFL before. or am i just crazy? that just doesnt seem practical

It was actually quite effective when Bill Walsh was running the West Coast in Frisco...30 years ago. He used to script his first 15 offensive plays. But Haley ain't no Walsh.

I think Walrus 2.0/Andy Reid scripted his as well, being from the coaching "tree" of Bill Walsh.

haha no kidding. at the nfl level it just doesnt seem practical imo because its not accounting for the negative or ineffectiveness of the scripted plays that might result

Walsh was known for it. I know several head coaches were doing it religiously a few years ago, Belichick, Reid, Dennis Green maybe? Not really sure by name, but it's definitely done. I've never thought it was a good idea myself, but who am I.
