Troy Polamalu may have just been trying to be witty when thinking out loud about why the NFL is trending away from the run game this year so vigorously and at a record pace. However, the Steelers (http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/)' All-Pro safety may have a valid point.

Well, either that or it's just so much simpler to throw the ball in the NFL............

Good to see that the Tribune is breaking a story about a trend that started several years ago. As always, they have their finger on the pulse of the league. It is amazing how their sports reporting staff seems to lack an internet connection, awareness of other sports journalism, or even televisions on which to watch the leagues they are covering.

Someone should tell them that power pitching, long at bats, and on base percentage are big in baseball. They can then write a story about how that killed the dead ball era.
