A trip down memory lane....at least for a few of us old timers! The opening minutes of the first ABC MNF telecast ever, a preseason game between New York and Pittsburgh, which happens to be the first ever game played in Three Rivers Stadium....as well as Terry Bradshaw's rookie season. Enjoy!

Love it.

"Tell me about the new "I" formation."

Fran Tarkentan, "It lets us be more tricky with our runs and also spread out the field" (not exact words). Hilarious to hear now.

Makes you realize the I formation isn't Old Time football.

Thanks for that, Sue. I remember it well. By the way, sports broadcasting died with Howard.

Wow, that's even before my time as a Steelers fan.

I was 16...cruising up Liberty Ave, on my way to the Strip District to pick up a slab of Baccala
for my aunt. For you folks who don't know Pittsburgh this is the strip
district.

Ahhh, thanks so much for sharing ! I was 20 and do remember the good time. How we do forget things that were 'big' then. Damn, I suddenly feel ancient ! LOL

Lol. Dick shiner facing his former team.

Funny that the Giants and Steelers were both winless then too.

Cigarette commercials and no Franco's Italian Army.

No Terrible Towel and no Steel Curtain.

I wonder what Dandy Don thinks about how that certain rookie quarterback's career turned out?

I wasn't born yet, but I was incubating. It's very possible that I was conceived on the same day that stadium was opened.
