The Browns are such an incompetent organization. Makes me glad I'm not a Browns fan. I needed this bit of good news after Monday's crapfest

This was a dumb move, even for the Browns. I was really surprised.

This is a steal. For the BROWNS. Richardson isn't the back everyone thought he was going to be. He's a good player, but I'll take a first round pick over him any day. Monterio Hardesty (injured), Chris Ogbonnaya and McGahee? Those running backs are fine. Now the Browns can use that pick on a real building block instead of another guy at running back. I've never thought Richardson was special. Very solid, but not special.

Also, Brian Hoyer is going to surprise some people.

This is a steal. For the BROWNS.

I take this back, it was an overreaction. Let me explain in better detail how I feel. I don't understand the uproar over the trade. He is a very solid runner, but I wouldn't call him a cornerstone. I do not think he's a special player. Cleveland made a smart decision by moving him now. The additional first round pick will allow them to select a building block at a more critical position. That said, I also think the move was smart for Indianapolis. They are on the verge of being a legitimate contender, building blocks aren't needed as much as immediate impact in their case. And Richardson should provide them that. This is a rare case where I think an NFL trade worked out well for both parties.

As bad as the Steelers are at the moment, at least they're not the Browns.

This should improve Indy's offense, have Trent to go along with Andrew Luck. Plus I heard that Indy's starting RB went on IR

It was a mistake to take Richardson third. But at least they realize that and are trying to atone for it, right? Better late than never.

Obviously this is something that's way down on the list, but I imagine there's a lot of Brown's fans stuck with Trent Richardson jersey's now. :chuckle: Wonder if the Browns will do something along the lines of what the Patriots did with the Aaron Hernandez jerseys? I realize they are different situations, but still I'm sure much of the marketing campaign was built around Richardson, so if they don't want an extremely pissed off fan base, ( more-so than they already are) maybe they should make some sort of accommodation to the people who paid good money for those jerseys?

1st . Richardson found out onthe radio, that's a first class organization for you.

2nd. I think it is agood move for both teams. If it were me i would rather fix last admins mistake now and have picks to build going forward. Trent is a nice RB, in a passing league, it's no longer the day when Bettis and a line can anchor your whole team.

3rd. Fantasy owners have got to be totally pumped

Thought of that this morning. I don't play FF, but I can't seem to find anyone I know who has him.

T-Rich was not worthy of the 3rd over all selection , nor was Weeden worthy of the 22nd or whatever he was ...

stated this on my old forum when it happened , the Browns had an opportunity to make a huge stride with that draft and instead moved laterally ....

this is a good move for both teams the Browns likely will get a pick in the mid to late 20s in return for a bad decision and that is normally more than you can wish for , the Colts get a pretty good RB when they where in dire straights in that department

Yeah, that's the fundamental problem right there. I never thought Richardson was that good. Question is whether he's worth the #20 pick, which I have my doubts about too. Bottom line though, they basically are admitting they wasted the #3 overall pick, which is bad enough in itself ... for it to happen that quickly is astonishing. Oh well, good luck to them.

Browns Trade Two 1st Round Picks and a 2nd Rounder to Colts for RB Ahmad Bradshaw

The Cleveland Browns capped a wild day of roster moves tonight by completing their second trade of the day with the Indianapolis Colts. After naming Brian Hoyer starting quarterback in the morning and trading Trent Richardson to Indianapolis in the afternoon, Cleveland picked up Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw Wednesday night.

“When we traded Trent, we realized we only had two running backs on our roster and that’s not so great,” said Browns president Joe Banner. “It just so happened that the Colts had just today acquired a stud running back, so they had Ahmad Bradshaw available. We are pretty excited to get Ahmad for just our two 1st Round picks in 2014 and also our 2014 2nd Rounder.”

Banner said he hopes Browns fans realize the deal for Bradshaw proves that management is ready to “win now.”

“Ahmad is a veteran running back with two 1,000-yard seasons on his resume,” said Banner. “And we pretty much mortgaged our future to get him. This year might be out best shot at winning a Super Bowl for a long time, so Browns fans should enjoy the ride.”

:chuckle:
The Colts insisted Cleveland finalize the trade over the phone, for obvious reasons, as Bradshaw has gone missing since the trade was announced.

The Browns coaches want to win . Their players want to win. Mike Lombardi wants to win, especially since he's been high on Brian Hoyer for years. But Joe Banner and the Browns ownership group wants desperately to lose so they'll be highly placed in the draft. So even when the Browns win, they fuck up! :chuckle:
