He's trying out for Green Bay, but he hit 33, 49 and 50 yarders in preseason. What more do you want? Give the guy a shot for crying out loud.
Hell, I'd watch a game just to see him, to see if he can get at all creative on kickoffs.

Maybe he's too slow in his approach? Can't get the elevation to get it past the line on longer kicks? Don't know, but those would be my first two guesses. Kid does seem to have a leg on him though. I'd think that the rest could probably be coached.
Is Tebow kicking FGs now?
Brett Favre!!!

He hit a 50 yarder though, you'd think if he can clear the line there then he could clear it shorter and longer.
I didn't see it so I don't know the distance it had on it, it sounds to me like teams are willing to go with a "known" commodity, sort of like if you have a promising young QB who hasn't started, your starter goes down and you elect to grab a journeyman off the wire as opposed to giving the young QB a chance.
I think kicking, if you have the "basic skills", comes down to confidence. I'd give him a shot.

I've read that he hasn't been as consistent in practice as coaches would like (in terms of approach and mechanics). They think he's got the talent but really just needs some time and proper position coaching). He'll make it with time.
