Several Steelers went down in Thursday's training camp practice. Le'Veon Bell and Isaac Redman left the team thin at running back and Jarvis Jones tweaked his groin.

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered through a brutal afternoon training camp practice on Thursday, losing several players to a myriad of injuries.

Le'Veon Bell suffered a knee injury on an outside stretch run which had gained 15 yards as Bell prepared to share first team duties with Isaac Redman when the Steelers play the Washington Redskins Monday night. The team's medical staff wrapped his knee with ice, although the wrapping was removed by the end of practice; however, a noticeable limp was left behind.

According to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Alan Robinson, Bell's run came during a non-contact drill but was driven to the ground by several defenders, seeming unprepared for the contact. Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed following practice it was not a 'live' drill. Bell is currently being evaluated, with most rumors pointing at a possible MCL sprain.

Sounds like a little training camp tomfoolery. Hope that doesn't cost us the season on Bell.

Did somebody at least get a visual of Tomlin ripping whoevers ass it was that hit him in a non tackling period? I know we want our defense aggressive, but lets pull the rains back a bit on our own guys. Save it for Rice.....

I really hope this isn't going to be indicative of Bell's future durability. The last thing this team needs at this point is a brittle-boned RB.

That would be my question also. Stupid stuff like this can cost you the season.

Ian Rappahannock or whatever the hell his name is, reports it as "minor"

Bell, their second-round draft choice, aggravated his sore knee midway through practice when he was running a stretch play to the left sideline and fell in a pile of players.

Bell was lying on the field for several minutes before he got up and walked slowly off the field.

Asked if he is concerned that Bell has injured his knee a second time, Coach Mike Tomlin said simply, "No."

On another note...I hate the ravens with their showboat bullshit...flacco is going down this year...his airplane wounded duck throws are not gonna work!!! I think we will kick their ass twice by 10 points at least!!!

tweeked knee is a tweeked knee

I doubt they'll be able to predict if he will play at all in the preseason

(not that there's anything wrong with that)

time will tell

although this is somewhat comforting

Bell was hit unexpectedly by a teammate in a non-contact drill. He didn't take another snap, and watched from the sideline with his left leg heavily wrapped. The wrap was taken off once practice ended, and he's considered day-to-day

I'd rest him and forget the next two preseason games. His knee is still iffy from the first injury....rest it. Give him a go in the final game.

MCL sprain ... that's the kind of thing that can fuck up your entire season.

You know, yeah, it's just a little tweak, I'll be back in a couple weeks ... I played a couple series, whoops, shit, it's still not ready ... wait a month ... come back looking good for one game, everyone's excited ... second game - whoops, shit, hurt it again ... maybe I'll be back by week 12 ... couple of faintly positive reports about rehab ... nope, go on IR second to last week of the season

For this afternoon's practice, Le'Veon Bell is expected to be dressed and on the field. That indicates his injury isn't serious.

@DVEMike: Bell aggravated bruised left knee landing wrong after contact with Steve McLendon. Wasn't tackled. Protocol of the drill was followed.
