Great but bittersweet article since Rainey is gone. If your next article uses derivatives or matrices I'll be a little concerned Chidi. You need to get out more and stop studying for the 2015 draft :chuckle:

I think it's unlikely he ran in a perfectly straight line (which would mean he actually ran more yards) but it certainly shows how important taking a smart angle can be. I doubt Rainey is some kind of Euclidian geometry expert, but some things can be instinctual or more likely learned through the experience of playing football all your life. I'm sure coaches teach proper angles on ST and defense, but some guys never quite get it. Just ask William Gay.

You're right, it wasn't an exact straight line. But pretty close so I think the number is pretty accurate. Too bad he's on the streets.
