Le'Veon Bell could be the best running back on the Steelers (http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/)' roster, and the rookie has yet to take a snap with shoulder pads on, let alone one in an NFL game.

So you would figure it would be only a matter of time before Bell races up the depth chart past lesser pedigree running backs Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.

That might be the case, but it definitely won't happen until Bell proves he can play at the NFL level when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

“Around here, if you don't block, you don't play,” Dwyer said...............

Kind of hoping the O Line does this more proficiently this year and we don't have to keep a TE and RB in for protection.

That's pretty dang impressive, and a good reason to keep them around. Might not be the explosive running we like to see, but if they can produce as a unit, and block this well, the overall effect on the offensive ability to drive for a TD would be much greater than getting someone like a Jerome Bettis, but without the ability to block.

At the same time, you must be good to run with the ball too

The Steelers were horrible to run the ball in 2012, but I'm confident with the zone blocking scheme, the steelers will be better in 2013

Lmfao, so much for Batch fans wanting to keep that scrub around just for his blocking ability. And sounds like Bell was a sensational pass blocker in college as well. Good bye Batch. A well over due goodbye.

Batch sucked ass last season no question about it ....

HOWEVER .....

lets not forget he had a pretty severe knee injury the season before while having a terrific training camp at Latrobe ....

Lets also not forget severe knee injuries normally take 2 seasons to recover from unless your name is Adrian Peterson ...

lets not be so soon to count Batch out , but I still see him as the long shot of the buinch
