It’s looks as if the firearm buyback craze has turned a new page – targeting toy guns.
Apparently Strobridge Elementary School in Hayward, CA will host a toy gun buyback this Saturday. Kids who turn in their plastic pistols, Nerf shooters and rubberband rifles will be entered to win a bicycle. So, actually it’s more like a raffle, but who’s splitting hairs?
Charles Hill, the school’s principal, explained, “Playing with toys guns, saying ‘I’m going to shoot you,’ desensitizes them, so as they get older, it’s easier for them to use a real gun.”

I can't believe the garbage that comes out of CA on a daily basis.

I wonder why I haven't shot anyone because I'm so desensitized from playing cowboys and indians and cops and robbers when I was a kid.... with cap guns that went bang?
It's hard to believe the lunacy that runs this country these days.

In other news, California has the most out-of-whack budget in the country and even the most basic services are shut down. Coincidence?
/no money for police, but plenty of money for your kid's squirt gun...

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Wait, I don't live in California anymore. I'm laughing.

guess it is a minor miracle I have not killed hundreds of people by now considering this supposed Educators logic ..... as stated above all the cops and robbers , cowboys and Indians and such we played as children of the 1960s ......
proving once again all the college in the world will not garner you one ounce of common sense

Ain't it the truth. And working for a major university, I see it first-hand.
