I just don't get this craziness. How does any otherwise sane person allow the government to behave this way, and expect that they can be trusted with this kind of power?

Too many people are OK with it as long as their "team" is in charge :frusty:

I don't know if people are ok with it, I think people are just saying what the hell can we do about it? You've got both dems and repubs both doing it and all we can do is complain.

Right? There's good and bad in both major parties, and the bad is winning.

The government is gaining more control and at the same time attempting to limit citizens ownership of weapons. I expect to see some pissed off people fighting for their civil rights in the near future, and if you think some of the shootings and tragedies that are happening now are bad, just wait until the government starts crossing that line. It'll be a dark time to be an American citizen, but citizen militias may be completely necessary to overthrow a overpowered and corrupt government. I'm not sure many sane citizens are going to sit around and allow the government to strip them of there liberties, do you?

The problem is the majority of people in this country are not paying attention to what the government is doing and simply don't know what's going on or will follow Nobama around like sheeple, will refuse to rise against him, and will laugh off anyone who tells them Nobama is causing harm.

See DHS insider thread. It'll be to late when the sheeple wake up if they wake up. Theres a reason why why the government is stockpiling ammo.

Well its not a matter of good and evil, because the intentions of the government doing this are good, to foil terror plots and out terrorists. The problem is finding a balance between our liberties and our security. As far as limiting citizen gun ownership I just don't see it, have they tried to limit certain kinds of guns, sure but im ok with that, guns are supposed to be for protection not for mass destruction. Trust me if they wanted to wipe out guns they would just shut down gun manufacturers and ammo manufacturers no need to go after private citizens one by one. People are not going to overthrow the government it would be a disaster even if they did, they are not going to rise up against the government because they are the ones voting for them. If people want to fight against government why resort to hostile takeover when we could do it at the ballot box. Its like saying we would rather turn our country in to a wasteland of war and chaos before we vote 3rd party.

For the moment, all we can do is mark which politicians have supported this and which ones have spoken out against it. Refuse to vote for the first group, and volunteer to help the second group.

*What* "chance in November"? Please tell me you aren't referring to Romney?
