NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2013" list promises to befuddle fans week after week. Thursday was no different, when Pittsburgh Steelers (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/teams/pittsburghsteelers/profile?team=PIT) quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/player/benroethlisberger/2506109/profile) was unveiled as No. 61 overall.

This is all kinds of crazy, as Gregg Rosenthal artfully explained (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000200116/article/ben-roethlisberger-voted-to-top-100-players-of-2013) earlier. There are 11 yet-to-be-named quarterbacks ahead of Roethlisberger on the countdown.

Bruce Arians (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/player/brucearians/2508619/profile), the Arizona Cardinals (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/teams/arizonacardinals/profile?team=ARI) coach who was a member of the Steelers (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/teams/pittsburghsteelers/profile?team=PIT) coaching staff during Roethlisberger's first eight seasons with the team, agreed the quarterback deserves to be higher, joking "that just shows you how much the players know." (He probably wasn't joking.).......

Ben & the Steelers will be WAY under the radar this year.

Good.

I think most of the players who make these lists are on drugs at the time they make them

Hard to make headlines when you are sidelined and playing hurt.

If you don't have highlights on Sports Center, the players won't take notice.

Joe Flacco should be #1, right?

The top 100 is nothing more than another popularity contest.

The top 100 is nothing more than another popularity contest.

Also, when the team has a bad season, it is certain that it hurts in the ranking

I do not care of the rankings.....Eli Manning was not in the top 100 before the 2011 season, but he won the SB

Don't care much where Ben makes it on this list. Just want the steelers to win every game they can

I wouldn't have ranked him very highly based on last year. He basically played half a season. The few games at the end of the year you can barely even count because he was forcing it and the whole team was messed up.

Most of the players probably try to make these lists off the top of their head. I don't know how many times I forget a big name when trying to think on the spot. They probably don't take the rankings seriously and just wing it.

So it's easy to overlook someone.
