Shamarko Thomas, the former Syracuse safety and the first of the Steelers' two fourth-round draft picks, has signed a four-year contract.

Thomas is the first of the Steelers' nine draft picks to reach agreement.

I like this guy alot, from what I've seen and read. Lets face it, there is never going to be a replacement for Troy, but I think this guys got fire in his belly and alot to prove.

Hopefully within four years he is worth re-signing unlike some of our more recent mistakes... I'm confident he'll be a good safety, but we'll see I guess. I'm really interested to see what the coaches do with him.
