McNabb confirmed Monday on his radio show on NBC Sports Radio that he will be retiring as an Eagle in September. He said the team has suggested doing it on the 19th when Reid, the man who selected him with the second overall pick in the 1999 draft, will be there. The Eagles have not yet made an official announcement, and did not return a message asking for a comment.

Memo to Donavan Mcnabb: After extensive research, experts have confirmed that it is no longer 2010 or 11, when announcing your retirement would not have been met with a response from most fans of, "wait you didn't retire yet?" :)

Enjoyed watching McNabb play. Hope he finds something satisfying to fulfill his time with post football.

5 Pro Bowls....how many has Ben have?

Even plagued by injuries throughout his career, McNabb's numbers land him at No. 22. He finished with a score of 92.9.

McNabb has played his career in Philadelphia, and has been a force in what is considered the toughest division in the NFC. McNabb has been elected to five Pro Bowls and was the Offensive Player of the Year in 2004

I would think Philly fans would cheer him. But, who knows with those idiots. I hope they cheer him going out, because they sure as hell didn't cheer him coming in.

Pro Bowls are popularity contests. Super Bowls are the measure of one's success in what "used to be" the NFL.

3?

I think Ben's only gone to the Pro Bowl twice. But I think there's been at least 3 times he could have gone as an alternate ( including last season) where he didn't bother. Not sure how many of McNabb's 5 PB appearances were of him being selected as one of the top 3 qb's of the conference?

Regardless Ben has been a better qb than the worm burner.

McNabb compiled great numbers but in critical moments of big games his bounce pass becamse more lethal than Oscar Robertson's. Except that McChoke's were lethal to his own team as opposed to the opponent.

I guess the starting qb job of the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL is now open.
