View Full Version : Rex Ryan Thinks Jets Defense Will Be “Best” In NFL With Or Without Darrelle Revis

Except it already is. Despite the HBO show, despite LaDainian Tomlinson and the rest of New York’s star-studded crop of free agents, Revis’ absence is the purveying theme surrounding Jets camp. One sure sign that the lack of Darrelle is officially a big deal? Rex Ryan is saying crazy things about it:

“Our expectations with Darrelle, without Darrelle, aren’t going to change,” the head coach said after all his defensive players but the one who matters most reported on time.

Then, a few beats later, Ryan added the whopper: “It’ll be the best defense in the league.”

Revis’ importance to the Jets D has been beaten to death, but allow us to reiterate: he locks down an entire side of the field. His presence allows the Jets’ head coach to stack the box and do all of his crazy Rex Ryan blitzes. Without him, they are a completely different team, and not in a good way.

Rex created Revis's swollen ego when he pimped him as the 'best of the best' last year.

....and now it bites him in the ass.

Just wait until he gets a load of how much Cromartie gets burned because he takes way too many chances.

Yeah, sure Rex :coffee:

guy talks way too much. That's the steelers' spot, you were just keeping it warm last year

This

They'd be better off with an inexperienced Kyle Wilson starting over Cromartie

The Jets have painted a great big target on themselves, teams will be gunning for them as if they were a Super bowl winner. Trouble is they're not, not even close overall talent wise and they'll come crashing back to earth this year.

rex also thinks he can take a shit, call it a banana, put a stick in it, dip in in chocolate, freeze for several hours, and then sell it to jet fans at coney island.

the moral of the story is you cant polish a turd, or dip it in chocolate, and his shit, infact DOES stink.

Sad part is, jets fans would probably buy it. It's the rest of the NFL that smells him a mile away.

I'm waiting for him to pull a Joe Willie and start guaranteeing wins.

When doesn't Ryan think that the Jets will be the best in everything.

Is Revis just "holding out" and they're talking or is he not going to be on the roster?
