Troy Polamalu practiced again Sunday, giving yet another indication that the Pro Bowl safety is not suffering any lingering effects from the knee injuries that wrecked his 2009 season.

Polamalu, who played in parts of just five games last season, has been a full participant in the Steelers' first three practices of training camp.

"My plan is to practice every day," Polamalu said.

Great. Custer had a plan, too.

I'd make him wear knee braces on both legs for the whole of training camp - just in case.

I prefer to just wrap him in bubble wrap until the season starts.

That was my next plan.

I'd put Ben in there too - but he's already got the Goodell plastic wrapper on him.

Well great to see Troy on the right track. If only he can stay healthy during camp and be 100% for the season will be the best news!

Seeing the title from the main page it just said "Steelers safety Polamalu is..." and I believe I skipped a heartbeat. So relieved to know that he's doing well and wish him all the best for this upcoming season.

In my opinion Polamalu, and to a leseer extent Aaron Smith are the key to a successfull season. If Polamlu and Smith play up to their normal level and give the Steelers 13+ games each the Steelers will at worst finish 11-5. With Troy playing at his best the Steelers are easily a top 5 defense, possibly even the best.

The special teams will be improved, and the offense will do enough when called upon. Let's not forget that Ben missed four starts due to injury in 05 and Tommy Maddox virtually forfeited two games and we won in Green Bay despite Charlie Batch in Ben's absense. So if we could go 2-2 sans Ben without a chance to prepare for the situation I'm fairly confident we can split our first four games given 5 months to prepare.

Yeah but I think the Browns own the right's to it these days. It's been their SOP for most of the past 40 years anyway.
