is he an ILB? wonder if the steelers are still interested in dan connor or if this is some sort of alternative...

EDIT: Very interesting guy this lorenzo alexander. Seems way more like a typical steelers signing than dan connor. Veteran player with some starting experience, great special teams guy (he's been to the pro bowl as a special teams player and a special teams captain many times), seems like a high character guy being nominated for the walter payton man of the year award many times. And check this out folks, he's nicknamed the "one man gang" because he has been asked to play offensive guard, tight end, fullback, defensive tackle, defensive end, inside linebacker, and outside linebacker during his career with the redskins. The redskins did this to him especially earlier in his career because of how well he did at all of these positions against the starters in practice. I thought it was some kind of mistake but its no joke : http://www.hogshaven.com/2011/3/23/2067575/lorenzo-alexander-explains-how-he-got-his-nickname-one-man-gang

lol well you cant tell him he isnt versatile thats for sure

I was wondering that as well. I was hoping for Dan Connor. Regardless, we definitely need some good depth on the LB corps because I don't see much of anything on the current roster.

Last time we snagged a FA from the Skins it worked out well.

Yep. If I remember correctly, we picked up Sushi off the street.

Alexander is a BEAST. Can play EVERYTHING. This guy has made such a difference for D.C. over the years but I really think he'll be out of our price range. He's an extremely valuable player.

he's the depth at offensive guard, tight end, fullback, defensive tackle, defensive end, special teams, inside linebacker, and outside linebacker that we've been looking for

Haha yeah really the guy is a very special player. He's actually solid at most of those positions. I really thought he was learning to play 3-4 outside linebacker very well before they brought in Kerrigan. I think he'd be a great addition to our team. Although I think I would keep him limited to maybe two positions haha. ILB/OLB sounds good.

I can see Alexander signing with us, we did sign the Redskins special teams coordinator after all.

He's strictly a LB now. He played DL and OL when he weighed 290.

NFL Network had a top ten worst free agent signings show. Number One wasn't a player, it was the Washington Redskins. Dan Snyder is a clown.

Report is Alexander to the Cardinals. Along with Josh Cribbs.

They have to try and keep up with the 49ers and Seahawks. This division may be the best in a year or 2.

put up a link when you can. maybe we're going to shift our interest over to Dan Connor again like we were doing earlier. we still need ILB depth

Aditi Kinkhabwala @AKinkhabwala

Bruce Arians lost to Steelers on Larry Foote, David Johnson, then lost Quentin Groves. Wasn't going to lose to Steelers on Lorenzo Alexander :chuckle:

Man Bruce is pulling in some talent so far. If he can land a decent QB he might be able to make some noise in that division, although it will still be tough.

Yep, looks like he signed with AZ. The NFC West is just going to be nuts! All of the teams are getting better.

The Steelers can have all the interest in the world, but they won't sign him. Where would he start? They moronically decided to re-sign the pathetic Foote.
