This is a sad day for the steelers.....Thank you to James Harrison for all the good year with the Steelers and especially for your 2008 season with a DPOY and the immaculate interception!

All good things come to an end

I was worried about this when he won that DPOY award. He played so well that he ultimately priced himself out of town. Definitely a sad day; there were a lot of good memories with him. You will be missed, #92.

We will never forget you James Harrison. You are the epitome of hard work and dedication to your craft. Nobody wanted you yet you kept busting your ass to prove everyone wrong, and you did in a very big way. I will never forget how you single handedly changed our SB against the Cardinals. I will never forget how you put Cribs and Mossequai(sp?) on the bench for playing the game the way it was supposed to be played. I will never forget the impact you made on my son who noticed how much more intense you played the game than your peers. With that style of play you were able to take my son of 9 years back to the days when all Steelers defenders played like you. Thanks for that, because as this game evolves players like you are becoming extinct. Thank-you James Harrison for making this Steeler fan a little prouder to be a Steeler fan. Good luck in your future endeavors, keep your head up and your eyes on the prize, just like you've always done.

Thanks for the awesome year's and memoriable 'sticks'. Sorry for the damn stupid fines that came your way. Good luck in the future....except if you play against the Black/Yellow. ( PS- I think you could have made it on the FO offer though).

Thanks for everything you did for this team James, you were and still are a true warrior and will always be a Steeler. You brought such a passion that some no longer bring in today's game. Thank for everything and good luck in the future.

Pretty sure it was his Rookie or 2nd year with the team, Cowher was still the coach and Harrison was playing Special Teams...Harrison messed up on a play and Cowher is on film, I think during the XL Super Bowl Run DVD Series, on the side line going up and down saying "Hey, you know what Silverback said? he said 'Shiiit happens coach'" and Cowher was laughing about it. That was James Harrison from Day one. No Nonsense, didn't put up with crap, if he made a mistake, he just owned it with a "shiiit happens coach".

Bottom line, he was a great asset and talent in his prime, no doubt about it.
