As the days click down to the start of the new league year date of March 12, the name of Pittsburgh Steelers guard Willie Colon will remain a talking point as he is one of a handful players that could possibly be released, restructured, or asked to take a cut in salary prior to the Steelers needing to be cap compliant.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Saturday that there has yet to be any talks between the Steelers and Colon's agent, Joe Linta about his client possibly taking a pay cut. Colon is scheduled to earn a base salary in 2013 of $5.5 million...........

Guess he is not that high on the "get this taken care of list". Perhaps the Steelers are waiting to see where they stand with the guys they have and what may be available in the draft. I suspect things will heat up after the combine.

I gotta say....I don't remember many Steeler fans being elated when we "locked up" injury prone Willie at such an extremely generous price.

Maybe they haven't asked him because they don't plan on keeping him?

I was just about to say , if he's not asked to take a cut , he'll probably get cut.

His agent says that he hasnt been asked to take a pay cut most likely because hes not picking up Colberts calls.

but i thought we lose more money if we cut willie colon? because of all the dead money
