Roethlisberger Makes First Comments Since April

LATROBE, Pa. — Ben Roethlisberger arrived at training camp in a caravan with his offensive line, big men squeezed into a string of Mini Coopers. Roethlisberger, who was investigated after allegations of sexual assault and has been suspended for six games by the N.F.L. for his behavior, said that when he and offensive tackle Willie Colon pulled up at St. Vincent College in a convertible, it felt as if they had just been here. Plenty has changed, though, since Roethlisberger, the Steelers quarterback, was here last. His demeanor Friday was one indication of change. As he unloaded luggage and pillows from the car, he was ultrapolite, even telling a cluster of reporters to be careful because he did not want to hit anybody with one of his bags.......
