Team president Art Rooney II expects Ben Roethlisberger to remain the Steelers (http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/)‘ starting quarterback for at least five to six years — or into his late 30s — and says the team‘s offense was operating just as he wanted until the Roethlisberger was injured midway through the season.

During an interview Wednesday, Rooney gave strong votes of confidence to coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who was being interviewed for the Arizona Cardinals‘ head coaching job at an undisclosed location.

Despite what he said several times was a “frustrating” season ruined by the Steelers‘ inability to force turnovers and their own penchant for making them, Rooney said the offense was efficient and productive until Roethlisberger was hurt Nov. 12 against Kansas City.

“Ben was on track for his best season. He was getting rid of the ball and getting sacked less,” Rooney said. “It was really everything we had hoped for to that point.” ...........

I love how he ignores the fact that almost every one of those defenses were i the bottom half of the standings as well. There's a REASON we could move against them - because they sucked.
