The Giants have re-signed wide receiver David Tyree to a contract so he can retire as a member of the team he helped lead to a victory in Super Bowl XLII.

The 6-year veteran only has 54 career catches and 4 TD's but has spent most of his career as a special-teams standout.

However Tyree is mostly known for his clutch helmet catch in Superbowl 42 that helped the Giants win the Superbowl.

Both coaches loved him (Fassel and Coughlin) for his effort. He is ALWAYS out in the community, even before the Super Bowl. He is a stand up guy and I'm glad they're doing that for him.

Surprised he is retiring at such a young age. I wonder if he is doing something else for now on?

He blew out his knee the following offseason after he made that catch.
