Just as President Obama and Congress try to avert going over the "fiscal cliff," he doles out pay increases to federal workers.
UPDATE: According to a senior Republican congressional aide who has reviewed the executive order and consulted with the Congressional Budget Office, Obama's pay raise will cost $11 billion. "The CBO told us that the President’s pay raise for federal workers will cost $11 billion over ten years," says the aide.
So, we don't have money to pay our bills, Congress and the President cannot come to an agreement on taxes and spending and alot of people are going to be affected by their inability to do anything, but they still get a raise? Am I the only one who is just a little bit ticked off by this? The slate needs wiped cleaned and we need to start over because obviously they don't care about their constituents, it is all lip service, from every single one of them.

Even though it was an executive order signed by Obama you know they will somehow spin it that way

Yes, and we all know the current impasse with the fiscal cliff is solely the GOP's fault, despite the fact that the Dems control 2/3 of the federal government.

This country's best days are behind them. A clueless congress, a corrupt president, a clueless electorate, it is going to get ugly

And best of all, it's all going to be blamed on the GOP (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/12/27/us-usa-fiscal-poll-idUSBRE8BQ0J620121227).
And they used to call Reagan the "teflon president?" He's got nothing on Hopey in that department.

What a stupid article. Of COURSE 27% blame the Republicans. How many Democrats are there? 27% maybe? And the headline is outright lying. Just a few lines into it 31% blame ALL THE ABOVE. More spin by the press.

Agreed, but it's the same spin that got him reelected.

This is just like Atlas Shrugged.
The country is going down the shitter and somehow the government is able to further convince the the masses that the problems are caused by freedom and capitalism and the solution is more government.

A deal has been reached. It includes a tax increase for the wealthy, a rollback of the payroll tax cut (in essence a tax increase for everybody who gets a paycheck) and not a single spending cut. All hail Hopey McChange! :jerkit:

I have given up on the federal government at this point. This country is doomed and there is NO WAY to save it now

Every single super power in world history has collapsed. Whether it be the Greeks (now and then), the Ottomans, the Romans, etc., every single one has collapsed. Maybe we are just another super power in a long line to bury ourselves

Hey at least when you become unemployed you can sit on your ass for a full year.
I already have employees hitting up for raises to cover the extra taxes they have to pay.

Not many if any. They get to see firsthand how bad hopeycare is and how bad it is for business and therefore is bad for their paychecks.

That is good then. I was going to laugh if the ones asking for the raise are the same ones that voted for Obama.
