"Hi Alex,
As always - Thanks you!
Have a happy Easter!
Hugs,
Marianne"

First Half

- Van Dyke, Curtis brown starting gunners. DVD goes down after the first punt.

- 3rd down incompletion that led to Bailey's 50 yarder for first points of the game. Love the concept drawn up by LeBeau. Foote steps back like he's going to drop and the guard double-teams the end, letting Foote come in free on a blitz. I know Romo is elusive but Foote has to bring him down. He can't and Dallas stays in field goal range. Possible difference in the game. Picture of the blitz concept with Foote shooting in free.

- Ran Wallace on "PCP" route (Post, corner, post) in the end zone with 5:10 left in first half. Looks like Ben missed his spot pretty bad though. Threw well to the outside shouler when it should have been inside.

- Rainey replaced van Dyke as a gunner. Working with Curtis Brown still.

- Cowboys throwing all the tricks at Victorian. 19 yard curl to Austin late in the first. Austin explodes off the line, selling deep, then acts like he's about to chop his feet at the 43 (8 yards from LOS, where breaking routes begiin) and then goes full speed again, alerting Victorian of a double-move and a "go" route. Then Austin breaks down into a curl route at our 48 for an easy pitch/catch.

- Continuing with Victorian and the problem he had. It's an understandable one. Obviously, he's getting thrown into the fire. Big key for him? Keep everything in front of you. Don't give up the big play. Knowing that, he opens the gate earlier (turns his hips) whenever he feels his cushion is threatened which for him, is earlier than most cornerbacks. Many examples of this but I'll just show one on this curl route completion to Austin. This is when Victorian opens the gate. Bottom of the picture.

Opens with still about a 5 yard cushion. It's tougher to react, plant, and drive when you've opened your hips than if you were still in your backpedal (where you either just push off and drive or do a "T-Break"). Creates more time and more separation for the recevier.

- Murray's 28 yard run. Keisel was being half-blocked but led with shoulder instead of trying to wrap, maybe he wasn't able to because he was being blocked, I dunno. Credit to Dallas' John Phillips for his block on Ryan Clark to really help spring Murray. But even bigger kudos to Ziggy Hood for staying with the play and running Murray down. Couple plays later, Harrison forces a fumble and the Cowboys turn it over. All thanks to Hood.

- Murray fumble. Great penetration by Keisel, beat LG Livings off the line. High effort from Deebo to stay with play and punch the ball out.

- Last play of the first quarter. DeCastro pulls for first time, good kickout on Ware.

- Witten TD. Golden seems to be single-high safety, Clark rotates down to flat on the snap. Sticks his eyes in the backfield on playaction, gets sucked up, and Witten is wide open down the seam. Rookie mistake. Two angles of it.

- Cotchery got a look or two in 2 WR sets throughout the game.

- 17 yard completion to Heath. PA to suck the LBs up, and Heath basically runs an angle route. Breaks inside when the safety opens his hips.

- Not a fan of running a zone read with Ben, to say the least.

- Worilds replaced Woodley mid-way through second quarter.

- Maybe an issue of two rookies playing next to each other though credit to Dallas' design. Have the end crash, stunt the LB through. 3 lineman end up blocking one Cowboy. Pressure despite them rushing 5 vs us keeping 7.

Second Half

- Victorian and Curtis Brown jammers.

- 18 yard pickup by Dallas on 2nd and 23 screen to Harris really stung. Had Harris dead to rights.

- Really a well-placed ball by Romo on Dez TD. Back shoulder, not much Lewis can do.

- Wallace makes McCray look like he's playing Pop Warner with his double-move that causes McCray to stumble. Little hard to tell from aerial view but look at the separation Wallace gets vs a 2 deep shell. Wow! 60 yard reception.

http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/gg608/Chidi2929/Wallace_Open_zpsafc270ac.png

- Good lead block by Will Johnson of Dwyer TD.

- Great play by Silverback to recognize broken play/bootleg on 3rd and 1 and drop Romo. If he gets sucked in, Romo has a lot of green to run, definitely picks up first.

- What a 22 yard run by Redman. Unreal at times how he can break some of those tackles.

- Too bad Spencer forced Ben to throw the ball away after beating Paulson on first play of 4th quarter. Brown open down right sideline though he scores later in the drive.

- Another bubble screen to Harris, 2 vs 1, should just be a short gain but Harris reels of 17.

- Big-time throw to Will Johnson on wheel for a gain of 21 with less than six minutes left to go.

- Self-scout. Anytime we split a WR 1-2 yards from sideline then motion him to stack with another WR, alert for the bubble screen. Did it 2-3 times.

- Carr OT INT. Throw high and too far outside.

- Poor tackle, chunk yardage we let in large part to two issues. Overpursuing and bad angles. Fundamentals, guys.

Sacks

- 1st and 10, 5:57 left in the 3rd. 12. 5 vs 3 rushing. Good coverage with Dallas dropping 8 against our short routes (curl/flat/checkdown). DeCastro beat to the inside by Spears.

- 3rd and 3, 4:05 left in 4th. Shotgun, 11. 7 vs 5. Just a 3 man route, good coverage. Starks beat aruond edge by Ware but Ben had a lot of time. So half on good coverage.

- 1st and 10, 1:34. Shotgun, 11. 6 vs 6. DeCastro slides down wrong way, double teams. Can't have that when it's 6 on 6. Pic. Put it on Ben for not pointing it out.

- 2 and 8, 1:15. 21. 6 vs 4. Run T/E stunt with Spears and Spencer. Spencer runs over Beachum, drops Ben.

This was the very next play after Ben got clubbed in the head by Ware. I think there may have been a connection Alex. Just my opinion.

But regardless, as always great break down!

Yeah, I heard you guys talking about it in the other thread. Very possible but tough to say for sure.

What's your overall assessment of Beachum and Decastro's play?

Do you think we lose something in the running game with Adams and Colon gone?

And if he's healthy would you start Adams over Beachum this week?

DeCastro looked really good, sans the sack. For the most part, it didn't look like we threw too much at him, mostly base blocking. But he did pull a couple times and there a few other instances where we asked him to work in space. A sound game as we all hoped and expected.

Beachum is just average. Doing alright relatively speaking for a 7th rounder, but he gets beat around the edge pretty easily. Run blocking doesn't get me too excited.

Definitely losing something in the running game with those two out. Our bread and butter has been Power O, pulling with Colon, and that's now obviously gone. But you also know how I feel about Dwyer's ability...

Definitely would start Adams over Beachum whenever Adams gets healthy.
