The Steelers will announce on Thursday that they have reached an agreement with 2010 2nd round draft pick Jason Worilds on a 4 year, 3.7 million dollar contract believed to include 1.9 million in guaranteed monies. Per club policy, the official numbers will not be available until filed with the NFLPA, but the Virginia Tech product will be signed on time and ready to report to Latrobe on Friday for the start of training camp. The Steelers will need to release a player from the roster to make room for Worilds and speculation is that either linebackers Johnny Williams or Renauld Williams will be released. The signing leaves only first round pick Maurkice Pouncey as the lone, unsigned draft pick, but the Steelers hope to have him signed in time as well to continue their streak to six years of having all draft picks signed an in camp on time.

ONE MORE TO GO!!!! I'm not really sure were Worilds fits in yet but I'm happy he is signed in time for camp. This only leaves Pouncey.

I want to see nothing but positives coming from camp and on through the season.....we deserve it with the long disasterous offseason we've had.

I have a feeling that we may be missing Pouncey for a couple of days during camp. With the uncertainty of the future NFL landscape, it will probably take a little longer to get the contract ironed out. Hopefully I'm wrong.

As long as it isn't an extended period of time, it won't be a big deal.

Agreed. From what I've read about Pouncey, I doubt he's gonna hold out. I wouldn't be surprised if he signs tomorrow.

Yeah, its not Pouncey (or most rookies comming to camp) that worries me as much as their agents. I'm sure most rooks are ready to get into camp and get rolling but the agents are going to try and talk them into holding out for as much as they can get.

The Steelers and second-round pick Jason Worilds agreed to a four-year contract.

The Steelers, racing the clock to keep a five-year streak of no rookie holdouts intact, will have at least one of their two top draft picks join them when they report to training camp Friday.

PFT finally writes something nice about a Steeler

"In April, we ranked Worilds tenth among outside rushers for the 2010 draft, and predicted he'd go to Green Bay with the 56th overall pick. The Steelers took him 52nd overall.

Possessing outstanding explosiveness for a 6-foot-1, 254-pound man, Worilds clocked the fastest 10-yard split among pass rushers at February's Scouting Combine. At the Virginia Tech Hokies' Pro Day, Worilds ran tailback-like forty times of 4.47 and 4.54. His 20-yard shuttle registered at 4.07 seconds, which is another eye-popping mark."

Glad to have him signed in time for camp. I'm hoping to see a big improvement in ST play this year with these rookies and FA signings.

Disastrous offseason? That might be the understatement of the year. However, there's no team more resilient than the Steelers have proven to be over the years so if anyone can bounce back, it's them.

Great to see we have everyone signed and now only Pouncey is left. Im sure it may be a few days before he signs, but he will soon im sure of it! Great news in the offseason finally!
