Kelvin Beachum (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/ncaaf/players/157178;_ylt=Ah1HmS7PNzhq3jmdl5iCzGg97Ox_;_ylu=X3oD MTFycHRwNmxkBG1pdANBUlRJQ0xFIEFydGljbGUgQm9keQRwb3 MDMQRzZWMDTWVkaWFBcnRpY2xlQm9keUFzc2VtYmx5;_ylg=X3 oDMTJtZGM4bmNnBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQD OTIxODhhZTYtMDBkMy0zMmUyLWI1NDEtMDQxMjQ3N2UzYmU1BH BzdGNhdANuZmwEcHQDc3RvcnlwYWdl;_ylv=3) and David DeCastro (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/ncaaf/players/167060) were separated by 224 picks - and an avalanche of expectations - in last April's NFL Draft.
The Steelers considered DeCastro a steal with the 24th overall selection, a plug-and-play talent they could pencil in at right guard for the next decade. Beachum almost wasn't taken at all, a seventh-round flier who arrived in Pittsburgh as the fourth (and last) option at offensive tackle.

On Sunday, with the Steelers (7-6) clinging to their playoff lives in Dallas, the sure thing and the project will line up next to each other on the right side of the line.

And the weird thing is, Beachum will be the seasoned one........

Beachum has the brains to play the position, but does he physically have what it takes?

We're gonna find out today. Spencer and Ware will no doubt be a huge test for him.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Heath giving Mr. Beachum some extra help today on that side of the line.

Me either, and to be honest I hope they do. I know its nice to have Heath out in routes, but its better when Ben isn't face planted into the turf.

hopefully we see some 2 TE sets with Paulson helping out Beachum so Miller can do his thing across the middle

I am not so sure you need a great blocker in help out mode , after all ..

1) he would be there to help not take on the duty

2) Ware is playing hurt so is not 100%

3) shorter passes to a sure handed Miller do not take that long to develop

just my thoughts ....

Yes a pleasant surprise. Actually looking better than Adams. Pretty good for a 7th round flyer.

Has to learn how to handle the speed rush. That is what kills him.
