Although we didn't know it at the time, this Week 2 win now looks HUGE and has gained crucial importance. The Steelers sit at 7-6 while the Jets have snuck up to 6-7 (no that's not a misprint), 1.5 games behind Pittsburgh. Had Pittsburgh lost this game, they would be 6-7 and 1.5 behind the Jets in the wildcard chase and today's stinker of a game would have caused a severe blow to Pittsburgh's wildcard chances.

one and a half games is too big of a differential for the jets to make up. Its going to be either cincy or us, and we'll know in 2 weeks

And if Ben doesn't go down against KC and miss 3 games, we more than likely sweep the Ravens, beat the Browns and would be sitting at 9-4 and on top of the North, despite that crapfest today.

No, actually, scratch that - we probably would've won today as well and would be sitting at 10-3 and eying a possible first round bye since Ben wouldn't have had 3 weeks of rust to work off and our offense more than likely wouldn't have been stuck in neutral the entire first half as a result.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. Shit happens.

I doubt we would have beaten the Chargers today. A healthy Ben can do nothing about the fact that crappy charger wide receivers were open every single 3rd down, and he still could have probably done better had the O-line in front of him actually blocked, and his receivers didn't drop everything 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage

If the Steelers beat the Cowboys and Bengals, but lost to the Browns, and they the Jets, and Bengals all finish up 9-7, even with a 3-0 heads up record against those two teams the Steelers would be eliminated from the final wild card spot. Because a 3 way tie is decided by conference record and common opponents as opposed to a two tie who's first tie breaker is head's up play.

Funny but sad all the same.

3-0 vs the NFC East which is considered the best division in football and 1-3 vs what may be the worst division in football. Damn shame.

If Roethlisberger had not gotten injured, I doubt San Diego would've spent the entire first half camped on our side of the field due to the offense's complete inability to move the ball.

And pursuant to that, what the hell was up with Butler and those dead leg punts?

His leg is running out of juice. The rookie wall is probably to blame. He's used to being on the couch already at this point in the season.
