On Christmas Eve, a doorbell will ring at a home in the Mon Valley area, and an excited child who can barely sleep in anticipation of Christmas morning will jump off their couch and curiosity will get the best of them as they peek out the window to see if maybe, just maybe Santa Claus is coming to the front door instead of down the chimney.

As mom answers the door, they will peer around her and their eyes will widen as they can’t believe who they see standing on their porch. No, it’s not Santa Claus, but it might as well be. Standing in front of them will be Charlie Batch, holding not just a sack of toys, but the dreams of what Christmas morning is made of..............

This is why we should never call him "Botch". Derogatory nicknames should be reserved for players who embarrass the franchise (ie Bongtonio).

There has never been one person who has said a bad word about Charlie Batch the human being. Not one. Everyone knows he is a fantastic person, and that alone is why I am glad he is a Steeler.

God bless you, Charlie.

He has been here for a long time, and hardly ever needed. But when called upon generally he has earned his keep.Through the years i have been a supporter of him.People can not see Ben playing that role, but it is coming.Imagine that.

He's also blocking for TD runs, so DEAL :eyebrows:

Yeah, you're right. At least he can keep upright. If Marcus Gilbert was in that picture, Charlie Brown and Linus would've had their knees taken out.

Agreed. This is an important distinction....

I guess to me Steelers Universe is a place where a lot of different people with a lot of different views and opinions meet to express themselves in their "own" way.

We all get a little miffed at times but the important thing (for the most part) is that we learn to accept each other despite our differences of opinion and let things go after disagreements.

After all, the one thing we have in common is that we are here because we love the Steelers....

He'll always be one of the good guys that wore a Steelers uniform.
