After letting us down a few times last year and not having the best record before becoming a Steeler Sushi has quietly become a model of consistency this year. 24 out of 25 with his lone miss being a 54 yarder which has him 7/8 on kicks over 40 yards. Turning into a career year for him, hope he can keep it up as we head down the home stretch.

I have to admit.

I doubted Suisham today. I tried not to, desperately wanted not to, but there was just too much riding on that kick for me not to revert to my old self.

Oh well, I'll start afresh again tomorrow.

Go Sqeeze'em!

Suisham has been the surprise package of the season for me.

I'll tell you one thing, I'm not real high on Butler as a punter, but boy he really spins that ball and puts it in perfect position for just about every kick! The difference this year with Suisham is not only is he making virtually every kick, he's splitting the uprights in doing it! I mean this guy doesn't even make you worry anymore. You can tell as soon as the ball leaves his foot it's heading straight down the middle!

There is no doubt about it. Shaun has really outdone himself this year.

Of course if you want to take the glass half empty approach to this you'd say if Suisham was the same kicker last year that he is now, we'd have beat the Ravens in Pittsburgh last year and ended up with a first round bye and a visit from the Texans in the divisional playoff round.

He has not been stellar, but I am willing to give him a year. At least he hasn't torn 3 ACL this year punting like his predecessor.

Punter -

Not the best, but he has only hit two touchbacks while putting 20 punts inside the 20. That's a 90% ratio. I'm not going to argue with that - and that makes up over a third of his punts as well. I'd be real interested to see what his average is, removing any punts that are within 60 yards of the endzone (our forty or back). Because right now, his average isn't so hot, but with over a third hitting inside the twenty, you gotta believe he's not banging away at those kicks.

Kicker--as long as he doesn't start looking like a doll, urinating in public, or getting liquored up, we're doing good. What is it with kickers?

not gonna lie, i was pretty mad we didnt bring in the other kicker from camp. Suisham's history of choking with the redskins, cowboys, and then last season worried me. Keep it up suisham, dont make me regret pimping you for once.

I'll take anything in the kicking game to keep my mind off Butler, that kid can't get a punt inside the 10 to save his life, but yes Sushi has been an honest surprise and I have easily doubted him before the season. Keep it up Sushi!

Sushi is on the biggest win streak of his career. Keep on riding it until he shows signs of Vandershanking.
