View Full Version : Did anyone see Tomlin and Harbaughs aftergame exchange?

I just saw the replay of it on Football Night In America on WPXI and Harbaugh ran up to Tomlin and said "great game." All Tomlin did was shake his hand and run away, but Harbaugh pulled Tomlin back and said "HEY!" until Tomlin said "good job" back. HAHAHA.

What a baby. Harbaby! He should go to finishing school or get a book on class.

And now when we meet them in the playoffs, the media will be discussing this for 1/2 hour before the game.

I ran away quickly from Harbaugh after the game because I had just left a 'silent but deadly' fart

All depends how Tomlin normally greets the opposing coach. I never have paid attention to see if he is a hugger/clutcher or just a quick hand shake/see ya later type. I will have to watch him the next couple of games, or does anyone know his regular MO?

It's probably something to do with the fact that every time the Steelers have beaten the Ravens in the past when these two coaches have met, Harbitch has made a point to say that it was all about what his team did or didn't do, and nothing to do with what the Steelers may have done.

Tomlin has aways taken the high road after a loss and made it a point of emphasis to acknowledge the other teams efforts first and foremost. And only after giving proper due's to the victor does he discuss where his team's shortcomings came in to play.

Exactly. Respect is a two-way street. If Harbaugh isn't claiming they "gave away (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RteZDt4KFHQ)" a game when we beat them, he's insinuating the Steelers are a bunch of cheap shot artists while his team has it "figured out." :coffee:

Jim Harbaugh vs Jim Kelly (Harbaugh broke his hand "claiming" he punched Jim Kelly...though all witnesses say he punched a wall while all puffed up)
John Harbaugh vs Todd Haley (Harbaugh ran the score up on a pre season game against the Chiefs and Haley more or less told him it was bush league)
Jim Harbaugh vs Jim Schwartz (Harbaugh gave Schwartz the "hard shake" after a chippy game..causing Schwartz to chase him down and yell at him)
Jim Harbaugh vs Pete Carrol (Harbaugh ran the score up on Carroll during a USC/Stanford game...and Carroll confronted him after the game)
John Harbaugh Mike Tomlin .....which we all saw tonight.

I think its safe to assume that Papa Harbaugh potty trained his boys at gun point. They have some SERIOUS masculinity issues

Tomlin just shook his hand said thanks and went off. Harbitch didn't like that, so he got upset.

Guess Harbitch wanted a little caressing and scoochy-poo alongside it. Harbitch living up to his name.

And don't forget he usually tries to point a finger at the refs at some point too after a loss.

IMO, Tomilin made it short and sweet for a reason: Harbough's comments after the first game about "the tougher team won".

Tomilin needs to set the tone and you don't let crap like that fly. He was "professional" about it, he shook his hand and said good job. What more do you want? My gut feeling says that Harbough almost wanted to apologize for his comments after the previous meeting.

steelerdude15

It could have gone better yes, but they still shook hands and said good game to each other. I don't see what the big deal is.

I guess I'm confused on why this is an issue to begin with. Who the fu=k cares about the coaches shaking hands ? It's all phony crap to begin with. Both teams just had a hard fought meaningful game and I'm sure everyone on both sidelines were drained and ready to get off the field and in the locker rooms. And I'm sure Tomlin and the team were ready to get the hell out of town. Hopefully we'll meet again.

Just eliminate the after game hand shake all together. Only benefits the media to try and twist stories out of it.

Damn, I'm with you on this ! It's fine for grade school, high school, and maybe college....but in the pro's it's all BS. You're out to win the game, no holes barred. You play to win, you try to kick the opponents ass ( and in the good ole' days take their QB out ), and in the end the better team that day wins. The end. I could care less about seeing Tomlin laughing, hugging, shaking hands, with the other teams coach.....in fact if the Steeler's lost I'd be pissed to see him exchanging pleasantries !! Kick ass and go home !! Send ya' a Christmas card !

I wonder if Harbaugh would have felt any better if Tomlin couldn't shake hands because he was too busy getting a Gatorade shower in honor of the big win. Because that's obviously a good excuse and an acceptable thing to do after winning a mid-season division game, right?

Did you ever see Chuck Knoll shake Jerry Glanvilles hand? Oh i'm sorry, Jerry Grandville. Let the coach run the team There is no rule where you have to shake the other coaches hand. When you know that your team has been hoooked, what do you do? Mike was just lookin out !The two shots they took on the old man was un called for. My hat goes off for Mike and the game plan for this coming week.

I'm glad to see that despite a loss, Harbs has humility and can be a good sport.

Doctor Foreman however... c'mon man, you're a coach, be a stand-up guy and set an example for your players

"Harbs" and "humility" IN THE SAME SENTENCE
