For those of you who have ever lost a beloved furry best friend, please keep Charlie and his Roxie in your thoughts and prayers today. His 5 year old rescue, Roxie, has been battling cancer and losing her fight. Roxie has been keeping fans updated on Charlie's FB page, and they got the devasting news this week that her treatments have failed. How special are our Steelers.....so many of them share their joys and sorrows with us fans, one big family.

Having lost our Libby and Cali in recent years, this breaks my heart. Charlie has job to do this Sunday, but today his heart is breaking.

Well guys, I'm tired & I lost my hind leg strength. I put up a good fight, but now I must rest and watch over my dad. Thank you everyone for all the love & prayers during this time. Ruv Roo all- Roxie. #CancerSUCKS

That is not what I thought this thread was about when I read the title. I thought "O great, now Batch is injured as well."

Go out and win it for Roxi.

We had a female beagle that was a rescue. The dog has more personality than I've ever seen. We had to put her down this summer for the same reasons (not cancer, but lost the use of her back legs). It's a terrible feeling.

I'm not sure about giving him a break on the football field, but he has my sympathies here, most definitely.

losing a pet is the same as losing a family member to the majority of us. Sad to hear. Keep your chin up CB.

I've lost two dogs to cancer. One that was kept alive with a good quality of life for over a year thanks to treatments, and the other that had to be put down right away due to the severity of the pain he was in. My heart goes out to Charlie. He's clearly a great dad to his beloved Roxie. It only cements further what I've always thought of him as a Steeler and as a human being. He's truly one of the good guys.
