Things are looking a little ugly in Dallas right now. Earlier this season, Jerry Jones confirmed that as long as he owns the team, he’s going to be the man in charge of personnel decisions. When you’ve had as many struggles as the Cowboys have in recent seasons — in the kind of sports media market that Dallas is — that’s probably not going to sit well with fans.

Funny how Raiders fans were chastised for putting up a billborad asking Al to hire a GM, but this is OK. :noidea:

Jerry is an idiot. And I want him to stay on as head of personnel decisions, because he is so arrogant that he will never admit to making a mistake. All this adds up to no Super Bowl for America's Dysfunctional Team.
On a more serious note, while I enjoy anything that becomes a thorn in Jerry Jones side, I have to admit I'm not in favor of these sorts of fan petitions. As much as I dislikes Jerry Jones, he owns the team and has the right to run them into the ground as he sees fit. It just annoys me when people in the general public think they acquire full ownership of something just because they purchase a part of or support a product. Sorry for getting serious on a Jerry Jones thread. It just has the ring of socialism to me.

As long as he's the owner, they'll never win another SB.

I wouldn't put Jones in Al's class. Al was a nut, but at least he was a football nut. Jones is just an insurance salesman that dreams of proving he can coach a pro football team.
I think your right though, Al should have turned over the key to that team years before.
