I am so very sorry to hear this. I knew John was battling cancer but I hoped he would beat it. He was as much a part of the Pens as the players and coaches and my heart and prayers go out to his family. :rip: John - I'm going to miss you deeply.

Wow RIP John what a terrible tragety and this one hit's hard. What a great announcer and always a great man. He will be missed greatly and prayers go out to his family and friend.

I had a feeling that this day was coming. He had brain cancer, same thing that ultimately took Badger Bob Johnson's life. It just wasn't the same last season not hearing John's voice during the games, and I had hoped that he would beat it so that he could get back to doing what he loved. It's a shame he passed away before he could see the Pens open up their new arena.

:rip: John. You definitely will be missed.

I never did get to hear him announce, but he was part of the family. Rest in peace Mr. Barbero.
