Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark announced on Wednesday that he has decided to change helmets after suffering two concussions in the past three games.

Clark will now wear the new Riddell Revolution Speed helmet that ranks highly in concussion testing. It is the same helmet that friend and fellow safety Troy Polamalu currently wears........

Have a new helmet now. It's so big man, but they say I can be just as wreckless but safer! I sacrifice the look

The article asks a very valid question, why don't all NFL players wear those helmets? If the NFL is so concerned about player safety, shouldn't these helmets be mandatory?

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought was "Oh no ... bigger helmet ... they're going to call helmet-to-helmet on every play now."
