Their starting quarterback was at the hospital having his right shoulder examined, and their starting free safety was being evaluated for a possible concussion. There was no Troy Polamalu (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/troy-polamalu/1b1010ec-73b6-414d-88ee-72dbd9b48597/) or Rashard Mendenhall (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/rashard-mendenhall/3e1ac879-3146-46f4-946b-216532a371b1/) or Antonio Brown (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/antonio-brown/859114e9-d70b-477b-8eaf-6f34bb1ffc03/), and the Steelers needed somebody to step up in a critical situation.

That turned out to be Lawrence Timmons
(http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/lawrence-timmons/afc86dd7-633e-4e37-a4da-5f089a96b666/), who stepped in front of a pass intended for Dewayne Bowe on the second play of overtime and made an interception that he returned 23 yards to the Kansas City 5-yard line. On the next play, Shaun Suisham
(http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/shaun-suisham/1375892d-6f3e-462a-b784-4c6cd6bce2b2/) kicked the field goal that gave the Steelers a 16-13 win.

Lawrence Timmons, who also had seven tackles and two passes defensed, is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were Brett Keisel (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/brett-keisel/e07c42f5-62cd-4b07-828f-1d192885b0c0/), who had eight tackles and two sacks; Ryan Clark (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/ryan-clark/cf65ed11-5ecb-4e40-9341-ff499509537d/), who had 10 tackles; and Mike Wallace (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/mike-wallace/304eecdf-1b60-4dc4-9cd8-7808d9f5c97a/), who made an acrobatic catch in the back corner of the end zone for the Steelers’ only touchdown on the night.
