I'm going to say it's an aggravation of his rotator cuff and a separated shoulder.

Without Ben, this team is 3-6 instead of 6-3. Ben isn't a Joe Flacco where you can take him out of the offense and it'll be fine, Ben is the offense.

If he's out for any length of time or if he's done for the year, you can bury this team.

SteelMayhem72

I do say its its a separated shoulder so a minimum 2-3 weeks out which will be our season....I refuse to watch our backups stink up the field!! they better be making a few phone calls for a qb

Ben will play next week, thus cuing a chorus of "he's such a drama queen". We dink and dunk our way to victory over the overconfident Ravens.

If it were not a work day tomorrow, I'd be seriously drunk right now.

Just being optimistic here, we can beat the Browns with whoever is playing QB, which would get us to 8 wins. Then you just have to win 2 out of 5 to be pretty sure of getting a wild card spot. Maybe Ben's back by then. If not, fuck the whole thing anyway.

Per my count, three sources say Ben has a sprain and two cite a separated shoulder. Based on how hard he hit the ground, i'd lean towards a separation. I hope i'm wrong.

I miss HTG every time I come on here, even-though I wasn't as close to her as many of you. I can still remember her on nights like tonight kicking some collective negative butt. She was always the optimist when it came to the Steelers or Pens.

Let's see what the prognosis is first. No doubt we will not win a Super Bowl without number 7. Still, 3-4 is possible without Ben. And, as was said earlier, 9-7 probably makes the playoffs. Then, if we get Ben back, we at least have a chance.

Guys, GET OFF THE LEDGE!!! We don't even know what the injury is. Before we declare the season over, lets wait and see what the injury is!

Ben is MADE OF STEEL! It will take a big injury (or a baby evidently) off the field!

Will that do? I hope HTG is up in heaven nodding her head at head at that post.

Even if it's just a sprain, with his torn rotator cuff I bet his shoulder will take a little extra time to patch up enough to throw. I think he sits next week regardless, and possibly against San Diego as well.

I think the best we can hope for is that he comes back for the 2nd Baltimore game and we split that series. I don't see a Lefty-run offense producing enough points to keep pace with the Ratbirds, smashmouth divisional matchup aside. (though we almost beat Baltimore with Twiggy behind center, so who knows)

Crow-Magnon
11-13-2012, 01:23 AM
Yeah.... unfortunately.

I can't speak for all Ravens fans, but if Baltimore beats Pittsburgh, we want them to beat the best team they can field. So I would rather see Roethlisberger play and take a loss over Leftwich or Batch.

Having said that, I would be highly surprised to see Ben not take the field next Sunday evening.

Hopefully we will find out some information on Ben today. I'm hoping it's just a sprain, but when you see someones elbow hit like that on the ground it's hard to believe it's minor, def. since he quickly went straight to a hospital to be examined. Ben's a tough cat and obviously if it's not major will want to play Sunday, but I just don't know if he should. Sit him and give him a couple weeks rest because having him down the stretch is way more important than one game.

P.S. I can see the Ratbirds now celebrating the win against our back up QB's like they won the SB again

If we go with Batch I think the Steelers will have a better chance. Hopefully the O-line will open some holes against the Ray Lewis-less defense.

Will the Ravens attack the Steelers' left side too?

I'd attack Hood and Woodley every time I ran. Woodley might be the single most overrated player on this team. I'd also run the no huddle spread offense quite a bit since it looks like Clark might be out for this game. I don't think the Steelers will roll over, but I think they are out-manned for this game.

Ben hides a lot of warts on this team. Without him...I don't even want to think about it.

Instead of speculating on what it is or isn't, how about waiting until the team posts news on it.

The Steelers are 6-3, but it's looking like 3-4 at best from here on out. I'd be fine with the win if Ben was fine, but he isn't. The injury may have derailed the season.

I'm standing by this prediction and if I'm wrong, I'll own up to it.

I'm sure they got a fake kneel down / play action pass, they're working on too if they get to a point that calls for a "victory formation".
